He's giving her lace, she thinks he's God
He's over his head now, felt so good
She's waiting in bed, like a good girl would

See a policeman and a gipsy as they drink and they play
The politician and his wife, before they look the other way
Can't see it if I'm in it and my head begins to spin.
The preacher's in the corner, wonder where the hell he's been?

Wait in line, but you move to the side
Step on a mine, wounds your pride
He's got your back now, he's just a kid
They're talking smack about the things he did.

If you speak up and defend him, make them glad he's around.
